An 18-year-old Columbus man told police he was beaten and robbed at the Booker T. Washington Apartments on Sunday.

According to the police report, the incident occurred around 4 p.m.

The man told police he was walking home from work and was walking through the Booker T. Washington Apartments. He said a man called out to him "nice jacket."

He replied, "thanks."

Another man then punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground. The victim said the man then continued to kick him and punch him.

Taken besides the jacket valued at $150, was a Samsung cell phone valued at $200 and $47 in cash.
