Apparently the great Twinkie sale will now begin Monday morning.

People hoping to purchase treats at the Hostess Brand Outlet store at 1969 Victory Drive were met with a closed gate and a security guard telling them the sale would begin Monday morning at 9 a.m. No reason was given. A knock on the door of the outlet store was not answered.

An earlier press released stated the sale would begin today and feature fresh, single-serve packs of snack cakes, including Twinkies and CupCakes as well as some Dolly Madison treats.

Each will be sold for 50 cents while supplies last.

Outlets open at 9 a.m. and close at its normal time. Sales will be at 1969 Victory Drive location, 706-257-1981; the other outlet is 1930 Crawford Road, 334-298-4172.
