A 63-year-old Columbus woman was arrested Monday on a charge of possessing crack cocaine.

Beverly R. Gardner of Henry Avenue also was charged with loitering, according to a Columbus police report.

Officer Ryan Vardman was on routine patrol in the area of Cusseta Road and 25th Avenue around 1:15 a.m. Monday when he stopped an individual standing in the parking lot of the Andrews Court Apartments, the report said. No other details were available.

Gardner is being held in the Muscogee County Jail on bonds totalling $15,500. She is scheduled for an 8 a.m. hearing Wednesday in Columbus Recorder's Court.
