Shoplifters arrested at Kmart, Wal-Mart

Columbus police arrested two suspects accused of shoplifting Monday.

Curtis Cockrell, 48, is charged with felony theft by shoplifting for allegedly stealing $463.55 in merchandise from the Kmart at 2500 Airport Thruway around 7:30 p.m. Monday. His case was bound over to Superior Court on Tuesday, and he is being held on bonds totaling $10,000.

Karen Aleman, 19, is charged with misdemeanor theft by shoplifting for allegedly stealing $62.55 in merchandise from the Walmart at 5448 Whittlesey Blvd. between 11 a.m. and 12:40 p.m. Monday. She was released from jail Tuesday.
