Man shot in thigh

A 49-year-old Columbus man residing on Coolidge Street was shot in the left thigh Wednesday night.

At 9:18 p.m., Columbus police officers Joshua Brownlee and James Barchenger responded to 2318 Forsyth St. in reference to a possible shooting. When they arrived, the victim was being taken by ambulance to The Medical Center.

The victim was shot by a small-caliber handgun but was in good condition, the police report says. The patient information operator said Thursday afternoon the victim no longer is at the hospital.

No suspects are mentioned in the report. The case remains under investigation.
