Autumn's warm breath

December 3, 2012

Baby, it's warm outside.

Throw away the apple cider and chunks of wood for your fireplace, the month of December has brought 70-degree weather and runners comfortably wearing shorts outside.

The unseasonably warm weather hasn't broken any records, but it has come close. The record for Monday was 79. We hit 78, according to WRBL chief meteorologist Bob Jeswald.

This warm trend will last us at least nine to 10 days, he said, with another arctic plunge possible sometime late next week.

For now, there could be a few brief showers Wednesday, and the temperatures could drop down to the 60s Thursday and Friday. However, we'll probably be back up in the 70s this weekend.
