Man arrested in snatching at The Jewelers Touch

A 35-year-old Cusseta , Ga., man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after rings were snatched from The Jewelers Touch on Whittlesey Boulevard.

Reginald Henry Mathis was arrested shortly after the 12:46 p..m. snatching at the 5450 Whittlesey Blvd. business. He was charged with robbery and held without bond in the Muscogee County Jail for a hearing today in Recorder's Court.

The business owner told police a man entered the business and said he was interested in buying a ring. As the clerk attempted to show the man some rings, he snatched a handful and fled on foot.

The man entered a white van in the parking lot and left the business.
