Job expo will be Thursday at VFW Post 665 in Columbus

Those in need of a job or training geared toward finding one might check out what is being billed as a military and military spouse “Hiring Event and Resource Expo” Thursday at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 665 in Columbus. It also is open to the general public.

A company called SolidHires will be on hand from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the VFW post, located at 1824 Victory Drive, across from the former Hostess Dolly Madison Bakery.

SolidHires, led by Chief Executive Officer Leland Smith, will also use the event as a Toys for Tots dropoff location. Seminars and workshops are planned, according to SolidHires, with “numerous national and regional companies on hand ready to hire and interview.”

Training topics include personal branding, using social media to find a job, and resume critiques.

Pre-register at www.solidhires.com. The company said door prizes will be offered.
