Complete your holiday shopping in an environment free of long lines, stuffy temperatures and bad attitudes.

No, it's not too good to be true. It's the JunkFest Handmade Holiday Bazaar.

Expect folk art, pottery, jewelry, soap, candles and more at the festival. It will be held Saturday and Sunday in the area behind Gina's Junk Thrift & Antique Store on Buena Vista Road. Admission is free.

"This stuff is local," said Sean Rox, the event's co-founder and producer. The festival celebrates "organic Southern life," he added.

Many handcrafted items will be sold -- perfect gift options if you're looking for items more unique than what's offered at national retail chains. Gina's Junk will also be open during the weekend. The store sells antiques, furniture and collectibles.

But shopping isn't the only reason to attend the family-friendly event.

Expect live entertainment, including a drum circle and open mike performances. If you're a musician who'd like to showcase your talents, you can register upon arriving at the festival.

In keeping with the holiday season's focus on altruism, the JunkFest Handmade Holiday Bazaar will host a food drive to benefit Valley Rescue Mission. Guests are invited to bring canned food items.

Refreshments including barbecue food and Fountain City Coffee will be sold. Guests can bring chairs and blankets.
