Man beaten, right arm broken in assault on Fourth Avenue

A 40-year-old Columbus man sustained a broken right arm and dislocated shoulder during an assault late Wednesday on Fourth Avenue, police said.

The man was in stable condition after the 7:15 p.m. assault at 2500 Fourth Ave. Police were called to the Jack Hughston Hospital in Phenix City where he was being treated.

Police said the man was in the street when the the assault occurred.

Police have no suspects as the beating remains under investigation.
