Woman hijacks Honda at gunpoint on Lawyers Lane

benw@ledger-enquirer.comDecember 7, 2012

An armed woman took a Columbus man's Honda at gunpoint Thursday afternoon, then dropped the 67-year-old off at his destination, the Columbus Community Center, police said.

The victim was not injured in the 3:15 p.m. encounter with the armed woman at Lawyers Lane and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The man told police he was driving south on Lawyers Lane in his red 2012 Honda Accord before he stopped at the intersection. That's when a woman with a .38-caliber snub-nosed revolver pointed the gun at him and stated, "Your destination or your life."

The victim said he moved into the passenger seat and the woman about 35-years-old got behind the wheel. She dropped him off at the Columbus Community Center where he called police. The vehicle was valued at $20,000.

No description of the hijacker was available. The theft remains under investigation.
