Johnny Dee scored 23 points to help lift the San Diego Toreros over the Tulane Green Wave and earn a 78-72 decision in a non-conference tilt at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
Dee was 7-of-11 from the field including 5-of-9 from beyond the arc for the Toreros (5-5), who have now won two in a row to get back to a .500 record. Ken Rancifer added 16 points while Chris Manresa scored 10 with six rebounds. Chris Anderson scored seven points and dished out a game-high eight assists.
Josh Davis tallied 19 points and eight rebounds for Tulane (7-3), which still is without a win in a true road game. Ricky Tarrant, Jordan Callahan, and Tre Drye each scored 12 points each and Drye grabbed eight rebounds as well.
The Green Wave led 37-35 at halftime after earning 14 points from the free- throw line.
In the second half, San Diego battled back by shooting 48.1 percent from the field and knocking down 7-of-14 three-point attempts to outscore Tulane 43-35 and earn the victory.
San Diego turned the ball over just six times while forcing Tulane into 12 turnovers that led to 22 points for the Toreros.
