Police: Sound system stolen in car burglary

Published: December 9, 2012

Columbus police this weekend were investigating a car burglary in which a thief made off with a sound system worth at least $500.

It happened overnight Friday at 741 Winston Road. The suspect broke the driver's side window of the 1999 GMC pickup and stole a touchscreen radio, amplifier and a 12-inch subwoofer, according to a police report.

Investigators noticed a security camera near the vehicle, but the property manager said it was fake, the report says. No arrests had been made, and no suspects were listed in the report.
