What would you do were your ex-girlfriend hassling you over the Internet?

A 27-year-old Columbus man took it to the police Sunday, complaining a woman he quit dating was sending him intimidating text messages and trashing him on social media sites.

The Candlestick Loop resident called police at 8:45 a.m. to report that since 8 a.m. Nov. 25, a former girlfriend has been harassing him. "He stated that she has sent him text messages that said, 'You'll get exactly what you deserve,' etc.," reported police Cpl. Dawn Tuning. "He also stated she is slandering his name on Facebook and Twitter."

The man told investigators he dated the woman "for a short period of time," and "has since reunited with his previous girlfriend," whom the woman also has been harassing.

Tuning reported that she called the woman and told her the man made a complaint, and if she left him alone from now on, "a report is all that will result from the incident." The woman said she understood, according to the report.
