Columbus woman, 50, struck by pickup, dies

A Columbus woman died today after she was struck by a pickup truck while walking along Steam Mill Road, authorities said.

Loretta Williams was pronounced dead at 8:25 a.m. at The Medical Center in Columbus, Deputy Muscogee County Coroner Charles Newton said .

The deputy coroner said the woman was struck in front of 4950 Steam Mill Road. Her body will be transported to Atlanta on Monday for an autopsy.
