Those who have enjoyed taking the jolly trolley or driving through the Fantasy in Lights display at Callaway Gardens might mark their calendars for Dec. 30 if they want a more physical experience.
The first ever Final Night Bicycle Ride is scheduled that evening for the 5-mile journey through the attraction that includes Enchanted Rainbow Forest, Firefly Cove and Snowflake Valley.
The event begins at 5 p.m. at Callaways Discovery Center, with participants meeting there a half hour earlier to prepare for the ride. The departure time cutoff for beginning the ride is 5:15 p.m.
Cost is $16 for adults, $8 for children age 6 and older, and free for those kids 5 and under.
Callaway Gardens staff reminds those taking part in the Final Night Bicycle Ride that a helmet is required by Georgia law for those riders up to 16 years old. A helmet is recommended for everyone, however.
The bicycle ride is a special event similar to the March of Dimes Night Walk that takes place in November each year, with participants strolling through Fantasy in Lights for a great cause.
National Geographic Travelers has rated the Callaway Gardens attraction among the nations top 10 places to take in holiday lights.
