Man loses part of nose trying to break up fight

Part of a Columbus man's nose is missing after he tried to break up a fight early Tuesday at Arbor Pointe Apartments on Gazebo Way, police said.

The victim, 20, was treated at The Medical Center after the 4:30 a.m. fight. The man was in good condition but he is missing pieces of cartilage from his nose.

In a report on the injury, police said they were called to the hospital where the victim and his mother said the injury was inflicted while the man was trying to break up a fight. The victim also said another man was able to bite his nose during the encounter.

No arrest has been made in connection with the assault. A suspect could face a charge of aggravated battery.
