A 25-year-old Columbus man was jailed Wednesday after officers observed him firing a pistol outside a Torch Hill Road apartment, police said.

Richard Green of 2001 Torch Hill Road was charged with one count each of reckless conduct and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was held in the Muscogee County Jail for a 2 p.m. Friday hearing in Recorder's Court.

In a report, police said Green was observed firing a pistol in public about 9:30 p.m.
