Published: December 20, 2012

Turkish club Besiktas announced Thursday that it has released Portuguese winger Ricardo Quaresma.

Quaresma, 29, leaves the club with six months remaining on his contract. He struggled to settle in Turkey after making the move to Besiktas from Inter Milan in 2010.

Besiktas confirmed that it has paid the remainder of money left of his contract. Quaresma is available on a free transfer.
