Columbus police charge teen with beating, raping homeless girl, 16

Police arrested a Columbus teenager Sunday on charges of beating and raping a 16-year-old homeless girl.

Investigators said the assault happened between 7 and 7:40 p.m. in an apartment on Mason Drive, where the assailant beat the girl with the handgun he used to threaten her, leaving an open wound on her forehead.

Detectives arrested Kevin Babe Henderson, 18, of 2314 Fort Benning Road on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated sodomy and rape, authorities said.
