April 6: Run with your dog at PAWS Humane's Furry 5K

January 2, 2013

PAWS Humane has rescheduled its inaugural Furry 5K for Saturday, April 6, at Cooper Creek Park in Columbus. The event was rained out on its original Feb. 16 date. The Furry 5K encourages participants to run or walk with their dogs. The race will begin at 9 a.m. and will be followed by festive music, awards and the chance for participants to visit vendor booths. The Furry 5k will be a fun event for the whole family, a time to increase awareness of PAWS Humane, and help raise money to help save more homeless pets.

Register at PAWS Humane, Big Dog Running Company or online at estartline.com. Early registration is $25 per person and includes a T-shirt. Day-of-Race registration is $30 and must be completed by 8:30 a.m.

"Not only is this a great family activity but one that helps make a huge impact on the homeless shelter pets of PAWS Humane," said shelter Marketing Director Becky Miller. "Community support is critical to our success and we couldn't continue to save as many companion animals without it."
