He is held without bond in the Muscogee County Jail for an 8 a.m. Monday hearing in Recorder's Court.

Aguilar was on patrolling on foot behind a closed business near Buena Vista Road when he heard a gunshot from the area of Fulton Avenue and Forsyth Street. After driving to the area, the officer spotted a man grabbing toward his waist while running behind some houses.

The attack remains under investigation.
