Armed robbery reported near LaGrange College dormitory

Police in LaGrange, Ga., are investigating the report of an armed robbery this morning near Hawkins Dormitory at LaGrange College.

Police received the call at 1:48 a.m.

A man told police that he and a friend had exited the dormitory and crossed Forrest Avenue to a parking lot on Broad Street. He said two unknown black males approached them and with a gun pointed demanded money.

The man told police money was given to the thieves who then walked away .

One of the suspects was described as wearing a black hat with fur on the sides, blue jeans and a green shirt or coat.

The other was described as wearing a gray long-sleeved shirt, blue jean, a black cap and silver chain.

Anyone with information should contact Columbus police.
