Residents of The Ralston spilled out onto 12th Street Wednesday after a man jumped from the downtown building, a Columbus fire official said.

The man was rushed to The Medical Center after the 12:30 p.m. jump from the ninth floor to the third floor, said Battalion Chief Donnie Jones of the Columbus Fire and Emergency Medical Services. He was pronounced dead at 1:11 p.m. Coroner Buddy Bryan said the cause of death was blunt-force trauma.

A Ralston official declined to comment on the incident.
