Man robbed of $200 in parking lot of gas station

A 56-year-old man was robbed of $200 Wednesday while standing in the parking lot of Fuel Tech on Fifth Street, Columbus police said.

The man was treated for a bump on the right side of his head after the 8:20 a.m. robbery at 314 Fifth St. He was treated by emergency medical technicians but wasn't taken to the hospital.

In a report, police said the victim was in the parking lot when a slender man struck him several times in the back of the head with a closed fist before taking his money.

The robber was described as black, about 20-23-years old and 5 feet, 11 inches to 6 feet, 1 inches tall.
