Gun Appreciation Day is Jan. 19: Will you participate?

ssorich@ledger-enquirer.comJanuary 10, 2013

The unofficial motto of Jan. 19 is "hands off my guns" -- at least if you believe the folks behind Gun Appreciation Day.

The movement, which is making waves online, urges participants to "go to your local gun store, gun range or gun show with your Constitution, American flags and your 'Hands off my Guns' sign to send a loud and clear message to Congress and President Obama."

That's according to a statement posted on the movement's official website.

The goal? Reach 50 million Americans, who will presumably sign the movement's petition to defend gun rights.

You can spread the word with a variety of online memes suitable for inclusion on Facebook, Pinterest and other social media sites.
