Feb. 9: Purse Party for Pets

Purse Party for Pets, a fundraiser for The Columbus Hospice Pet Peace of Mind Program, is set for 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Green Island Country Club. Tickets cost $30, and the money raised is to used to help hospice patients keep their pets with them. The program provides veterinary services, grooming services and pet food for patients' pets.

Men "model" bags during the live purse auction. A silent auction is also featured. Since the program’s inception in January 2010, over 95 cats, dogs and even an African Grey Parrot have been able to stay with their loved ones at no cost to the patients and their families. The Pet Peace of Mind Program keeps patients and their pets together during this difficult time in their lives.
