A Columbus woman and teen were charged with shoplifting Tuesday after allegedly attempting to steal $15 worth of household items from Family Dollar, according to a Columbus Police report.

Officers arrived at the Family Dollar on the 3800 block of Cusetta Road at about 2:30 p.m. after employees reported two women had attempted theft. On arrival, personnel told police that Zandra Travis, 20, and a 15-year-old girl had attempted to conceal a blue pair of sweatpants, a set of purple and white dish towels and a can of body spray.

Both Travis and the teen were charged with shoplifting. The 15-year-old was taken to her mother, while Travis was transported to Muscogee County Jail.
