An accident suspect was charged with possession of marijuana near a school Tuesday, according to a Columbus Police Department report.

Travis Porter, 31, was found in the yard of Eagles Trace Apartments on the 2000 block of Torch Hill Road at about 7:30 p.m. The apartment complex is within 1000 feet of both Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and South Columbus Elementary.

Porter was also charged with no state license, no insurance, obstructing an officer and switching tags. He was arrested and taken to Muscogee County Jail.
