If you are traveling southbound on Interstate 185 between Manchester Expressway and Macon Road in Columbus, you might want to find an alternate route.

Columbus police are investigating multiple wrecks involving nine vehicles on the busy stretch of highway.

Just after 5:30 p.m., patrol units were rushing to the scene to direct traffic. At least three or four tow trucks were called to the scene to help clear the wreckage.

Near 7 p.m. police were saying the blockage of traffic should ease up soon.

Near 6 p.m. they were reporting traffic was backed up near Airport Thruway. There don't appear to be any life-threatening injuries at this time.
