An employee at the Summit gas station on the 1500 block of Veteran's Parkway was struck with a wine bottle Wednesday during an armed robbery, according to a Columbus Police Department report.
At about 5 a.m. an unknown black man entered Summit, grabbed a bottle of wine and hit the attendant with it. He then took money from the cash registers, the attendant's purse and her cellphone and fled on foot, according to the report.
Police arrived after the cashier was able to call the authorities. Medical services were also dispatched to attend to the cashier, who had a small laceration on the back of her head and some swelling.
