Auburn shoplifter caught after assaulting mall employees, one still at large

Published: January 17, 2013

An Auburn, Ala. shoplifter was detained Tuesday after she was identified as one of two women involved in a December shoplifting incident which left two mall employees injured, according to an Auburn Police Division press release.

Mychaela Jackson, 18, was arrested after she was connected with a shoplifting that took place at the Village Mall in Auburn on December 20. Jackson, along with another woman who has not been identified, assaulted two store employees when the workers attempted to detain them. Jackson and the other woman then left in a tan four-door vehicle — possibly a Nissan Maxima, according to the release.

Jackson was charged with two counts of robbery in the third degree. Auburn Police continue to search for the second suspect.
