Recap: San Francisco vs. Santa Clara

Published: January 18, 2013

Kevin Foster tallied his first-career double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds as the Santa Clara Broncos dismissed the San Francisco Dons, 85-54, in West Coast Conference action at Memorial Gymnasium.

Foster shot 6-of-10 from 3-point range for Santa Clara (13-6, 2-3 WCC), which snapped a three-game losing streak. Raymond Cowels III drained five treys on his way to a season-high 17 points. Evan Roquemore added 10 points, five assists and three steals, while Marc Trasolini grabbed 11 rebounds.

For San Francisco (7-11, 0-5), Matt Christiansen was the only player in double figures with 12 points. The Dons are still winless in conference play and have lost 10 of their last 12 overall.

Santa Clara shot just 37.5 percent from the field in the first half, but it was able to hold San Francisco to only 30.8 percent shooting, as it took a 35-24 advantage at intermission.

The Broncos' field goal efficiency shot up to a lofty 64.5 percent after halftime, and their lead was never in doubt.

San Francisco shot just 3-of-19 from beyond the arc, a far cry from Santa Clara's 14-of-30 showing from 3-point land.

With his performance, Foster moved to fourth place on the WCC's all-time scoring list, surpassing Loyola Marymount's Forrest McKenzie and his 2,060 points.
