A 40-year-old woman was treated for head injuries at Columbus Medical Center Thursday after crashing into a fallen tree on State Route 18, according to Manchester State Patrol Post officials.

The driver was traveling east near Hughley Road and was unable to stop in time to avoid a tree which had fallen across the road. The hood and windshield of her 2003 Ford F-150 Lariat struck the tree, cause major damage to the vehicle.

Officials said reports did not say how serious the woman's head injuries were. No further information was available.
