Alright, let me preface everything by saying that Im a little late to the party.
The New Year isnt so new anymore and most people have already broken the resolutions they swore that they would really follow this time.
I spent the New Year out of town and away from the wonderful world of Bi-City high school sports. Now that Im back, though, I have a resolution of my own that I swear to follow:
This blog is going to have fresh content every day.
Whether it is a quick look at this weeks schedule, as you can find on the blog today, a short column or feature, or just ramblings from the mind of a sports and pop culture fanatic, there will be stuff for you to peruse during workI mean, in your spare time, of course.
Once again, though, Im asking for your participation. I want to hear from you. I want feedback on what you like or dont like, comments to begin a discussion. Email me with story ideas or tidbits about players, coaches or just people involved with your team.
Players, parents, coaches and fans: Follow me on Twitter @leprepsports. Ill give you a follow back and Ill be active in discussing sports from high school to professional. Civil, but spirited, debate will, of course, be encouraged as well.
Here is a look at the new schedule that the blog will follow each day:
Monday: The Week Ahead A look at highlights of the week ahead in high school sports
Tuesday: Q&A with a local sports personality (w/ video)
Wednesday: Senior Spotlight A quick profile of a senior athlete in the Bi-City area
Thursday: Region/state outlook A quick rundown of where Bi-City area teams stand in the region as well as the biggest challengers at the state level
Friday: A free day in which I will usually provide a short column, story or simple musings on sports in the area. Given enough participation, I would love to include reader emails or questions in the blog on this day as well.
Saturday: The Week in Review A look back at the highlights from the week
Id love your help on some of this.
If you know of someone who would be a great subject for the weekly Q&A, send me an email. Same for the Senior Spotlight or assorted columns and short stories.
If you have ideas or tips on bigger stories, let me know. If you have minor news tips that should make it into the blog or print you get the picture.
In 2013, I promise to do my part in keeping you informed and up to date on high school sports in the area. If youll join me in the discussion, we can make this year in sports great.
