Feb. 23: Junior League of Columbus hosts Run for the Kitchen

The Junior League of Columbus hosts Run for the Kitchen -- Taking Steps to End Childhood Obesity on Feb. 23 at Columbus State University's Woodruff Park, located on Front Ave. A 5K, 1-mile Fun Run and Tot Trot will be featured. The first race begins at 8 a.m. The goal of the event is to empower youth to make healthy choices and help reverse the growth of childhood obesity.

The Tot Trot is $10, the 1-mile Fun Run is $12 and the $5K is $20. Pre-registered runner will get a T-shirt on race day. Participants in the 1-mile Fun Run and Tot Trot will receive medals. Proceeds are used for Junior League programs and support projects that focus on the group's signature issue: The Healthy Child. Advanced registration is now through Feb. 16. After that, just race-day registration is available. The Fun Run is at 8 a.m. The 5K is set for 8:30 a.m. and the Tot Trot will begin at 9:30 a.m. Chip Timing will be provided.
