Jan. 30: Register a team for the Trivia Bee on Feb. 12

Sign up a team for The Literacy Alliance's Trivia Bee set for Tuesday, February 12, at Columbus State University’s Cunningham Center. Deadline to register is Jan. 30. Teams may sign up at the individual level for $150 or the business level for $225. Both levels include admission for four people plus refreshments and drink tickets. Each team should have three players and a runner.

At the business level, teams get a half-page ad in the full-color program. (Deadline for inclusion in the program is Jan. 30.) Teams are encouraged to adopt a theme and dress themselves and their tables accordingly. "Best dressed" teams will win prizes.

To watch the trivia bee, general admission costs $15. The event starts at 6 p.m. and silent auction will be set up early.

This is a fundraiser for the Literacy Alliance which serves Columbus, GA, and the surrounding community. The Literacy Alliance assists pre-k students with developing vocabulary skills and encourages adults to return to school to get their GEDs. A secondary goal is to create community awareness of the effects of low literacy levels on a community and the individual's ability to provide for him- or herself.
