TV blog: The Bachelor Sean Lowe says goodbye to a fitness model and a poker dealer

ABC's "The Bachelor" Sean Lowe sent home poker dealer Leslie H. and fitness model Amanda on the fourth episode of the show. Though both were disappointed to leave, at least Leslie H. departed with diamond earrings, a new Badgley Mischeka dress, purse and shoes after her "Pretty Woman" date of shopping on Rodeo Drive. Poor Amanda went home with a badly bruised and swollen jaw after falling down during roller derby practice on the group date. Further alienating herself from the other bachelorettes, Tierra threatened to leave the show during the group date and Sean gave her the early rose to get her to stay.

Here's a recap of the fourth episode:

Selma, a 29-year-old real estate developer in San Diego, got the first one-on-one date with Sean Lowe on the fourth episode of ABC's "The Bachelor." A limo ride was followed by a trip in a private jet. It seemed like the usual glamorous "Bachelor" style date except that Selma was wearing workout clothes and Sean was wearing shorts and a T-shirt.

Their destination wasn't a private dance lesson or yoga session, as Selma had guessed (or hoped?). Instead the couple's date was rock climbing at Joshua Tree National Park, a popular desert destination for hiking and outdoor activities.

"I'm so disappointed. I'm petrified," Selma said. "I do not do well in heat... I feel puffy."

After joking that she usually wore 6 inch heels and never hiking boots, she climbed quite well. Sean was impressed. "I'm just trying to scramble to catch up with her," he said. He explained that he was an outdoorsy sort of guy and he needed to know that glamorous Selma could do outdoor activities with him.

Despite Selma's wowing Sean with her rock climbing ability she worried about the evening part of the date. She told cameras that her mother would have a heart attack if she kissed Sean on TV. Selma was born in Iraq and says her family is very private and traditional. "I really, really wanted to kiss him but I can't," she said. "I respect that," Sean said. "Her eyes are basically just asking me to kiss her," he said. "I want to spend more and more time with you," Sean said when he hugged her and gave her a rose. "I'm crazy about Selma and if I have to wait to kiss her, then I'm happy to do it," Sean said later in his camera interview.

The group date is roller derby which is challenging for many of the women who have trouble staying upright on their roller blades. For Sara, who has just one arm, it's even more of a struggle. "I'm trying to impress an amazing guy and show everyone that I can be strong," Sara said. Turned out that Amanda, who pretended that she'd done roller derby before, needed the strength more than Sara. Amanda fell and hurt her jaw. She was taken to the hospital. Sean decided the roller derby competition was too fierce and instead changed the date to a fun skating session. The bachelorettes seemed relieved.

During the evening portion of the group date, Tierra had a meltdown and threatened to leave. "I deserve so much more than this," Tierra said. "I can't take the fakeness," she said. "I can't be tortured like this," she said. She told Sean how she was feeling and he convinced her to stay. "If Tierra goes home I'll always wonder what could have been," Sean said. He gave her the rose and she agreed to stay. Once again, I don't what, if anything set Tierra off. I am sure that her antics didn't earn her any new friends in the house.

Leslie H. got the second one-on-one date of the episode. Diamond earrings arrived with Leslie's date card and Sean took her shopping on Rodeo Drive. Leslie told Sean that "Pretty Woman" was one of her favorite movies. They went to Badgley Mischka and Leslie tried on dresses. She got a dress, a purse and shoes. "Sean is definitely a young, sexy, blonde, blue eyed Richard Gere, and I am a tan Julia Roberts," she said. Then Sean took Leslie to Neil Lane and the famous jeweler chose a diamond necklace for her to borrow for the evening. After getting all dressed up, the couple went to a private dinner and chatted. Sean said he enjoyed spending time with Leslie but wasn't feeling a romantic connection. "I wanted it to be there, I really did," he told Leslie as he walked her to the limo that would take her away from the show. She warned him to be careful of some of the other girls in the house.

"It sucks saying goodbye to Sean... I would honestly give back all these clothes and these diamond earrings to have more time with him," Leslie said.

At the cocktail party, Tierra "apologized" to Robyn and Jackie. She didn't actually say she was sorry for anything and but she did take the opportunity to point out their flaws. It was awkward and bizarre but Robyn and Jackie said they accepted her apology. Tierra told Sean that things were still difficult for her in the house but that she was "keeping her eye on the prize." Sean told Teirra: "I think you are your own worst enemy and you freak yourself out." He assured her that none of the other girls would sway his opinion about her.

Sean, a 29-year-old Texan, originally appeared as a bachelor on Emily Maynard's season of "The Bachelorette."

ELIMINATED WEEK FOUR

Leslie H, a 29-year-old poker dealer. "It sucks saying goodbye to Sean... I would honestly give back all these clothes and these diamond earrings to have more time with him," she said. She was eliminated after a one-on-one date that included a shopping spree on Rodeo Drive.

Amanda, a 26-year-old fitness model in California. "I feel really rejected... It's going to be hard to get over Sean... I feel stupid." She was eliminated after a group roller derby date where she fell and hurt her jaw. The injury required a trip to the hospital and was visibly swollen at the elimination rose ceremony.

CONTINUING TO WEEK FIVE

Selma, a 29-year-old real estate developer in California.

Tierra, a 24-year-old from Denver

Catherine, a 26-year-old from Seattle

Desiree, a 26-year-old bridal stylist from LA

Lindsay, a 24-year-old substitute teacher in Montana, show stepped out of the limo in a wedding gown in the first episode.

Lesley M., a 25-year-old Washington, D.C. political consultant from Arkansas, says she's a modern Southern belle.

Robyn, a 24-year-old engineer in Houston. She fell down doing back flips out of the limo on episode one.

AshLee F, a 32-year-old professional organizer from Houston.

Sarah, a 26-year-old who works in advertising in LA, who was born with just one arm.

Jackie, a 25-year-old cosmetics consultant from Florida

Daniella, a 24-year-old from San Francisco

ELIMINATED WEEK THREE:

Upon being eliminated, Kacie B. said: "I really wanted this to work." Sean told her that he tried to move her out of the friend zone but he just didn't feel anything romantic for her. Before the rose ceremony, he asked to speak with her for a minute, and he let her go without forcing her to stand through the rose ceremony. The 25-year-old from Tennessee, has appeared on "The Bachelor" before. She was a bachelorette on Ben's season and she and Sean met in New York at a post-Bachelor party and clicked as friends. Kacie arrived on this season's show as a surprise to see if she and Sean could form a romantic bond.

Taryn, a 30-year-old from Oregon, said "Maybe I wasn't sweet enough for him."

Kristy, a 25-year-old Ford model. "I wish I would have found love here but you can't force something that isn't there," she said.

ELIMINATED WEEK TWO

Diana, a 31-year-old stylist in Salt Lake City Utah and mom to two girls. "I'm sad to not have more time with him," she said.

Brooke, a 25-year-old community organizer from Pittsburgh. "Love just was not here. It wasn't," she said.

Katie, a 27-year-old yoga teacher in Charlotte, chose to leave the show during the season's first group date.

ELIMINATED WEEK ONE:

Kelly, a 28-year-old cruise ship entertainer from Nashville, sang for Sean during their introduction. She was embarrassed to be eliminated. "I feel like, who'd want to date the crazy girl that sings a song for Sean and gets kicks off 'The Bachelor' the first week," she said.

Paige, a 25-year-old New York jumbotron operator, also failed to receive a rose when she appeared on season 3 of "The Bachelor Pad." She felt embarrassed to be eliminated so quickly from both shows. "When you fail again, that sucks... It's really sad," she said.

Ashley H, a 25-year-old fashion model, told Sean that her blue dress matched his eyes. I guess he was unimpressed. "The devastation, I try not to let it sink in but it hurts," she said.

Lauren, a 27-year-old journalist from Rhode Island, told Sean about her Italian family. Her dad told Lauren to tell Sean, "If you break my heart he's going to break your legs." I guess the threat was a bad idea.

Ashley P., a 28-year-old Michigan stylist and fan of "Fifty Shades of Grey," said: "It's a little bit of a bumsky." She then did a little dance and hiked up her dress to show Sean what he was missing. "Mom, don't be mad," she said in her exit interview.

Keriann, a 29-year-old entrepreneur from Florida, told Sean she drove over 2,775 miles to meet him. "That's so flattering." Sean said. I guess flattery will get you no where with Sean.

Lacey, a 24-year-old student in California, gave Sean a piece of lace so he'd remember her name. Maybe he still forgot to call it out during the elimination ceremony?
