Lineup of 85 companies, organizations set for Feb. 14 career and job expo in Columbus

It could be a Valentine’s Day to remember for those seeking a job in the Chattahoochee Valley.

A career and job expo, hosted by Clear Channel Radio, will take place 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Columbus Trade and Convention Center, 801 Front Ave.

So far, about 85 companies, colleges and resource agencies have committed to be at the event, which takes place with the Columbus metro area unemployment rate currently at 9 percent.

The Georgia Department of Labor and Columbus Technical College are helping with the job fair, with those attending encouraged to dress appropriately for possible on-the-spot interviews and to bring along lots of résumés.

Any employers wishing to attend the expo should contact the department’s Columbus Career Center at 706-649-7423 and ask for Albert Lee, Anthony Walden or Isaac Williams Jr.
