A man was arrested and charged with marijuana possession Wednesday after officers stopped several men for loitering in a neighborhood, according to a Columbus Police Department report.

Police stopped Frederick Thomas at about 3 a.m. after officers passed him, along with several other people, walking throughout Old Cusseta Road and Farr Road for two hours. When police asked the men what they were doing, they said they were going to visit a relative on Winston Road.

Officers found 0.18 grams of marijuana on Thomas after asking to search the men. Thomas told police he had no knowledge of the marijuana and that the pants belonged to someone else, but was unable to say who the pants belonged to. Thomas was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. He was taken to Muscogee County Jail.
