As national signing day approaches, we are counting down Georgia's top 10 recruits of the past decade (since the 2003 class), ranked in order of performance as a Bulldog.
No. 10 was Brandon Boykin, from the 2008 signing class.
No. 9 was Bacarri Rambo, a three-star prospect from the 2009 signing class.
No. 8 was Todd Gurley, a four-star prospect from the 2012 signing class.
No. 7 was Justin Houston, a four-star prospect from the 2007 signing class..
And now we bring you No. 6:
WR MALCOLM MITCHELL
2011 signing class
Hometown: Valdosta
High School: Valdosta High School
Star rating: Four stars by Rivals, Scout and ESPN.com.
Rankings: The No. 33 overall player in the country, according to the 247composite, which culls all the major rankings.
Recruiting accolades: SuperPrep and PrepStar All-American selection.
Georgia career: It would be hard to see Georgia winning the SEC East without Mitchell in either 2011 or 2012. Mitchell emerged as the team's top playmaker on offense as a freshman, then after a short-lived experiment at cornerback to start the 2012 season, he Mitchell had 40 catches for 472 yards this season, second on the team to Tavarres King in each category. Next season, with King having graduated, Mitchell figures to be the unquestioned main target for Aaron Murray. Mitchell, whenever he leaves Georgia, has a chance to be one of the program's top receivers of the Mark Richt era.
