COLUMBIA, S.C. - Georgia's 30th commitment came late on Friday, and it was a running back - but not one of the previously-known names on the target board.

Brendan Douglas was on Georgia Tech's list, however. In fact, he was on its commitment list.

Douglas, a standout from the Aquianas School in Augusta, flipped from Georgia Tech to Georgia upon receiving an offer, according to multiple recruiting outlets.

This is not an earth-shattering commitment for Georgia: Douglas is rated a two-star recruit by 247sports, and three stars in the 247composite. But Georgia has been scrambling for depth at tailback after the transfer of Ken Malcome, which left the team with just two tailbacks who came to campus on scholarship: Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall. Former walk-on Brandon Harton has also been on scholarship the past two seasons.

The Bulldogs are also expecting to sign A.J. Turman, rated a four-star tailback recruit from Orlando, and will now ink Douglas, who is listed at 5-foot-10 and 210 pounds.

ANALYSIS: This shouldn't be taken as a sign that Georgia is definitely out of it for Alvin Kamara, the highly-rated tailback recruit from Norcross who is reportedly deciding between Georgia and Alabama. And the Bulldogs also made a recent offer to Jonathan Ford of New Hope, Ala., who last week de-committed from Vanderbilt.

But as stated in this space yesterday, the reason Georgia has been reported speaking to recruits without offering is because it can't be offering more scholarships than it has available. Therefore, it's reasonable to assume that the team has either found out it's not getting someone it had an offer on the table for, or it has pulled an offer from someone. Or a combination of the two.
