Alabama man critically wounded outside Opelika Knight's Inn

An Opelika, Ala. man was found shot outside a Knight's Inn on the 1100 block of Columbus Parkway Sunday, according to an Opelika Police Department press release.

Officers arrived at the Knight's Inn at about 7 p.m. to find a man injured outside of one of the rooms with a single gunshot wounds. Witnesses said they heard arguing and then a gunshot prior to the incident.

Police are looking for suspect Aleecia Monique Pitts, 21, of Auburn, Ala. She is described as a 5-foot-6-inches tall black woman weighing about 143. She was last seen near the Knight's Inn in dark clothing. It is unknown whether she is armed at this time.

Opelika Police officials said the victim is in critical condition. Investigators are still unsure if there is any relationship between Pitts and the victim.
