A Columbus woman won $1 million in the lottery's Maximum Green scratch-off game, according to a Georgia Lottery press release.

The winner, 29-year-old Tanisha Smith, is a dietician, the press release adds. She purchased and scratched the ticket at Coastal Food Mart, 3600 Second Ave., in Columbus.

"I was too excited. Other people who were in the store were happy for me," Smith says in the release, which adds she expects to share some of her winnings with her family and save/invest the remainder.

She claimed her prize Monday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta, according to the press release.
