Georgia will have a heavy presence at NFL combine

Published: February 7, 2013

ATHENS - In case it wasn't clear by now, here's more evidence: There was a lot of NFL talent on Georgia's roster last season.

There were 11 former Bulldogs invited to the NFL combine, third-most of any school:

- WR Marlon Brown.
- CB Sanders Commings.
- NT Kwame Geathers.
- WR Tavarres King.
- NT John Jenkins.
- DE Abry Jones.
- OLB Jarvis Jones.
- ILB Alec Ogletree.
- S Bacarri Rambo.
- DE Cornelius Washington.
- S Shawn Williams.

LSU had the most players invited, at 13. Most of those were underclassmen. Florida State was next up with 12 players.

Alabama, the two-time defending national champion, had 10 players invited, as did Florida. Notre Dame, which was shelled by Alabama in the BCS title game, had eight players invited, including Manti Te'o.

Oregon, which finished ranked No. 2 in the nation, only had five players invited. Its head coach, Chip Kelly, is already in the NFL, having taken the job with Philadelphia.

There were a total of 333 players invited to the combine, according to NFL.com, and 67 of them, the most ever, were underclassmen.

The combine runs from Feb. 23-26 in Indianapolis.
