Recap: Northern Ariz vs. Portland State

Gabe Rogers shot 7-of-11 from 3-point range en route to 25 points for the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks, who earned a 79-72 Big Sky Conference win over the Portland State Vikings at the Walkup Skydome.

DeWayne Russell scored 15 points off the bench, and Stallon Saldivar tallied a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists. The Lumberjacks (9-14, 7-6 Big Sky) have won two in a row and four of their last six.

Two Portland State (5-15, 3-10) players put together double-doubles of their own, as Aaron Moore had 19 points and 11 rebounds and Renado Parker went for 18 points and 13 boards. The Vikings lost their seventh game in a row.

NAU went 8-of-13 from beyond the arc in the first half while shooting 63 percent overall to get out to a 51-35 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Lumberjacks' shooting efficiency dropped to 33.3 percent, but despite being outscored in the frame, 37-28, they were able to hold for the win.

NAU shot 10-of-21 from long range on the evening, while Portland State was just 3-of-14 from 3-point territory.
