A gunman wearing a mask and gloves robbed the U-Save Food Mart at 1326 Benning Road late Friday, Columbus police said.

The owner wasn't injured in the 9:11 p.m. holdup.

In a report, the owner told police the gunman entered the business, pointed a pistol at him and demanded money. The robber took an undisclosed amount of money and fled through the front door.

The robber was described as black, about 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches tall and slender. He wore a black mask, black bandanna, gray shirt and black gloves.

Police said the holdup remains under investigation.
