Carr leads Columbus State softball to win

— Kristin Carr hit a homer in the bottom of the seventh to lead Columbus State to a 6-5 win over Nova Southeastern Sunday.

CSU (6-3) finished the EC Triton Spring Invitational with a 3-2 record after splitting games the first two days.

Taylor Turner (3-0) came in to the game in relief in the fourth and tossed four scoreless innings for the victory. She allowed just two runners to reach second base in her outing and gave up just two hits.

Casey Googe went 3-for-4 with three RBIs. She also stole two bases. Bree Nowlin and Carr had two hits apiece.

Columbus State will host Division I Oakland for a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Feb. 19.
