A Columbus woman told police a knife-wielding man attacked and attempted to rape her as she took out the trash early Friday.

The woman, 54, was treated at The Medical Center after the attack on 14th Avenue.

She was in the driveway about 7:30 a.m. when the man with a knife grabbed her from behind.

Police had no suspect in the alleged assault which remains under investigation. No description of the suspect was available.
