A woman was arrested and charged with crack cocaine possession Sunday, Feb. 17 after she attempted to run from an officer who pulled her over for a seat belt violation, according to a Columbus Police Department report.
Police pulled Katlyn Rivers, 20, over near Farr Road and Ford Drive after noticing a passenger in the 1992 Buick Regal not wearing her seat belt. Rivers fled after being pulled over.
When police searched the vehicle before it was towed they found a small plastic baggie with crack cocaine in the center console.
Police caught Rivers near the scene and charged her with possession of a Schedule II drug. She was taken to Muscogee County Jail.
